Double success for local family business at top industry awards


Property Care AwardsA Gloucestershire based company has once again scooped a double honour at a national trade body awards ceremony.

The work of Guardian Preservation Services LLP, based in Cheltenham, was recognised at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the Property Care Association (PCA) at Girton College, University of Cambridge.

Employee of the Year was awarded to Dariusz Lodej, who initially joined Guardian Preservation Services in 2014 on a part-time basis and has since become a key member of staff with his positive attitude, willingness to learn and excellent customer feedback.

Judges also singled out Guardian Preservation Services for the Highly Commended accolade in the Project of the Year award for a complex, well thought out and designed flood remediation solution to a converted mill adjacent to the River Avon.

Founded in 1977 Guardian Preservation Services is a family business run by partners Chris, Tim and Jane Herbert and has been preserving and protecting properties in and around Gloucestershire for almost 40 years.

Darek’s a real asset to the company and we are delighted that his hard work and commitment were recognised at such an important event.”

Now in their seventh year, the PCA awards are selected by an independent panel of judges; Graham Perrior of the NHBC, Douglas Kent for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and Gerald Kelly of CITB.

Chief Executive of the PCA, Stephen Hodgson, said: “Guardian Preservation Services achieved a fantastic and well-deserved result. It was a great night for them and they are worthy winners of these prestigious titles.”
